City snaps!

Early studio snaps.

Was soo happy today that it did not turn blank for the 4th time. I was so relieved it came through, I was going to give up on film cameras if it didn't.. well I guess I'll just be annoyed for a bit ha. Still got heaps of cheap film to test out on other cams that my mum randomly bought, just to waste. Anyways today went to see Red Ink perform at QV. I really like them and their music. I think I've seen them like 3-4 times now with their free gigs with Thu. Got some clips, might upload soon.

Gold fields and The Chemist

Helloooo just came back from seeing Gold Fields and The Chemist playing at Fed Square. Was goood! even the sun was shining. The main guy in Gold Fields was goodlooking, teehee the others are alright too. They are from Ballarat. I like their music. So sad, I filmed a section for 15min on my itouch but then when I look at it again, it's not even there. They played the song I've been waiting for them to play last Treehouse which I thought I recorded but unfortunately I didn't. The Chemist played after. Perth band, I think. I left after the second song they were playing that I wanted to see Lullaby #1. Glad I went even though it was by myself.

Cole&Josh

A few days ago I wanted to try to use acrylic and pencil together inspired by Tran Nguyen. Her works are pretty awesome. I never really used acrylic before. I started sketching on MDF board a random image on my wall which happened to be Cole Mohr. I was planning to paint it but I liked it in pencil and didn't wanna wreck it so I started to draw another guy, Josh Beeson, to test out using acrylic but I liked that one too. Still gotta fix them up. Then yesterday I just found some paper and did the piece in the middle and it actually looks pretty good for a first attempt. hoot

Messy room per usual. It can never stay clean even for a week.

First time skipping class this year, well not really last friday.. Sort of feel bad but oh well hope I didn't miss out on much.

Blank&Unblank film

Oh my, where is his head? I seriously don't know. So odd.

Started class yesterday and we got allocated our little studio spaces and today I went to the wrong class. Was such a nice day! wanted to stay out longer but didn't know what to do besides to sit on the grass.

Anyways here's my first sketch I did on the train this year.

My sad self and my roll of film had turned out BLANK! I was looking forward to it too. I should've expected it since it was expired film from 1987 but I read that it still works well anyways. Thinking about it now, it feels like my friend and I have just been taking snaps with a toy cam or something. Ah well.

These are some snaps taken the first time using the same cam with the expired film. Just testing out the cam which is Hanimex something.. I forgot.

Blackbird

Day where I went out just for the sake of it. Ended up going to Fitzroy where there happened to be a Blackbird market at the workers club which I figured now happens every second Saturday of the month. The place is small with some cheap and expensive stuff, mainly expensive. There were some pretty dresses that I liked but can't imagine myself wearing for some reason and it was a bit awkward there by myself. Went to buy some socks then to Smith St, then hang at Fed.

Trip to NGV where they are showcasting The Naked Face: self portraits. Displayed are just some snapshots I took and put together with the shitty itouch cam. Ends 27 FEB 2011. Still planning to see The Dreams come true exhib too! soon.

So urgh, can't believe the camera works now. At the start of the day it couldn't even take a single photo for some reason and now when the day is over it does. Blab. Had my second year orientation today. I'm pretty sad that Steve and Julia won't be back this year cos they were pretty cool. I shall miss Steve.

So lately I've been working on a commissioned painting of a couple for my sisters friend. It's only been like 2 days? and I'm sick of it already. It's nearly quite finished but it just annoys me that It looks like them sorta.. but something is just not right and it just does my head in. I might post a pic when it's done. If I'm happy with it. boo I need to be out.
