wow I look like a sloth in clothes.

Exam over. I think I've finished actual classes now since Friday! which I didn't rock up to.. It was that day with the non stop raining, horrible. Now just got heaps of studio time to get ready for assessment.

On Sat, took my sister out to the city. Went to see the William Kendridge show before it ended on Sunday! It was amazingg, I should of went to see it earlier so I could go again just to sit and watch his works properly. Didn't manage to watch everything that I wanted to with my sister around, always bugging to go out to the game centre outside. The fruit ninja event was on at Fed Square too, got some free shirts which was cool. 

                            

Cupcakes I made on the weekend cos I was craving for some.. mm. Today I've made berry mousse and chieken, bacon, mushroom, corn casserole.

Famine Affair

Went out with J to NGV:Mad Square, had dumplings and waffles. The mad square was goood, inspiring. I loved Hannah Hoch's collage works, the little short films and all the portraits in the exhibition. These works were mainly about the war era and how it has affected them, time after. Ending soon early March.

Friday: Woke up really early today, well than usual to go to the city to do an english test. I really do not know if I did well.. I missed a few questions. First major thing to do for the start of the year. Quite horrible. Bought some cheap canvases after at Art Riot, as they just started their canvas sale til the end of the month. Should keep stocking.

Blackbird

Day where I went out just for the sake of it. Ended up going to Fitzroy where there happened to be a Blackbird market at the workers club which I figured now happens every second Saturday of the month. The place is small with some cheap and expensive stuff, mainly expensive. There were some pretty dresses that I liked but can't imagine myself wearing for some reason and it was a bit awkward there by myself. Went to buy some socks then to Smith St, then hang at Fed.

Trip to NGV where they are showcasting The Naked Face: self portraits. Displayed are just some snapshots I took and put together with the shitty itouch cam. Ends 27 FEB 2011. Still planning to see The Dreams come true exhib too! soon.

Fitzroy Area

There we go. Pretty cute.

A shitty feeling day. I feel so weak but I don't have a cold or anything. Bad morning. Shitty ink drawings. Skipped Classes and went to eat and also explored Fitzroy shops and galleries.

Duck Duck Goose is cheap and such decent place, like 8-10$ a meal but there isn't much on the menu besides drinks. Lets go eat you guys, even though I shouldn't be spending money.

After, went to OBEY sale in Fitzroy today and others around there. So many sales and factory outlets. And omg such a coincidence seeing that blonde guy from the surf skate shop at swindle where they were selling OBEY stuff. like 29$ shirts, caps, etc. Only Thu knows..

BSG gallery.. geez I got freaked out by a random white big cat that hangs around there. That's the first. Sutton Gallery was ... to me was a cracker. Hardly anything. Anyways, I shall go back to the shops there on my long breaks next time. Fridays class always make me shiver, and stressed out! I hate it. It has been alright so far though, but still.

Julia DeVille & Tim Burton

Made um a new friend.. today. Quite odd but nice, I guess. On break went to the Sophie Gannon gallery today to see works of Julia Deville! Omg it is soo good! but thinking about it gives me the creeps cos she works with taxidermy animals but overall awesome.

I found out my next class was cancelled, so hanged out with Linda until my next one, where we went to the 'Tim Burton exhibition. Far he has done soo much in his lifetime and still going. Sat and watched 'Hansel and Gretel'. I really enjoyed it. There's just so much, all wow and strange.

After ate at this Japanese restaurant near CAE. Didn't taste too great. Full of onion! like ew. Reminder to self: don't eat there. boo.

Kangaroo killing

I had a pretty good day today, despite waking up early to go to early lecture. Saw quite a few people that I haven't seen in awhile. Didn't spend that much money! My American friend is starting to do pen-paling with me. Better be good. And omgg so stressed for printmaking! haven't started any of the 3 preliminary drawings from the word BROKEN for me to carve on lino. It has been weeks too! :(


"Wake in Fright". What we watched this morning (small class). I don't even know if I like it or not. The killing by shooting of kangaroos is involved. Quite harsh nasty stuff. took some naps throughout the movie. It's about a Teacher man that goes to a town for a break and gets wasted all the time and starts gambling, shooting kangaroos like all the men there then goes back to normal like the start. So weird. No comment on this one.


On break after class, went with Carly and Sara to see Steve Cox's exhibition at the John Buckley gallery in Richmond. Pretty cool stuff. Here are some of his works, I don't think I was meant to be taking pictures... but anyway..


Painting Class, I didn't like the set up at all. these empty water bottles and plastic stuff. Meant to create a transparent effect? So not.
