Last day

Last studio shots for the year! It has been quite a year.. I don't know how to describe it.

Took down everything today. Now break time! I am in a pickle. I kind of need to choose between two jobs that mainly require night shifts on the weekends. If you know me, I hate choosing and can't really make decisions on the spot. It makes me feel sad to choose one. Why does it have to happen now and not before when I was actually searching. :(

I met a really cute guy last week on my first shift, but didn't catch his name or anything.. cos I was focusing on other things (actually working). There was so many chances but oh well.. I have also been majorly sick especially on Monday where my throat was so sore, felt swollen, runny nose, and so many non stop tears from morning til the afternoon.. even at the docs. By the end of the day my eyes were so puffy like mosquitoes have bitten them. I even went to see my brothers little art show.. and the next day I had an interview in the morning where my eyes were still in that same state.. I think it went well though.. Anyways I am much better now and the weather is just crazy.

Oh Oh Chéri

Mon: Presentation over (phew) felt so devo afterwards for the rest of the day though. headache.
Tue: Conservation centre. It was so interesting! was planning to stay home this day. Saw how they restored old artworks and went to this underground place where they keep all these docs on bureaucracy and all. After had lunch at Don Tojo with Kelly! was good.
Wed: Cleaned room. Attempt to work on criticism.
Thu: Went to the Festival of Nations at Melb Uni, food! takoyaki balls.Witnessed Gangnam style flashmob. At lib: Attempt criticism. At night found out I chose the wrong topic to do!! when I read the assessment page again. All my time wasted.
Friday: Finished it off! Started a painting from my slack of prac work.

Another paper due Mon! oh I like to procrastinate.

Animations

 Winter, rain and drizzle. Have been sick and been my usual self, avoiding the rain and everything else. 

Delay. It has been a fun filled four days with exhausting long hours on the drawing on animation course as a winter intensive. Started on Monday which was exciting! besides the early start. Had two lovely animators who helped us out, one worked in a film called 'Mary & Max' a academy award winning short animation and the other also won an award for.. I forgot what.. but her stuff is amazing.

Untitled, on Plywood. Painting (cropped) I did few weeks ago on the break. I don't know if I actually like it, I did when I was actually painting her but it just feels like there is nothing really to it and not very me. I guess I just wanted to try something different. Inspired by Charmaine Olivia.

On the first day we watched various animations that involved different techniques to get us thinking and inspired to create our own in only a couple of long days. Pes, Bruce Alcock, Carmen Torrero etc. It is so amazing the process and time spent on each second of a film especially back then when they didn't have the technology like we do now. Day 2 started actually making our own. Day 3 Continuation. Made another one and a half. Day 4: Putting it together in the computer labs. And there is a screening day next week where we get to watch everybody's animation! I saw a few, and I have to say.. they all looked amazing. It was quite a nice class with a mix of people from art, music, to science, physics. Glad I chose this.
I have a few clips that I've been meaning to upload but aren't so much finished.. but I've finally done it today! Sorry for video overload.. It'll be cool if you could check it out though :)

This is the first that I did. Mainly using charcoal and rubbing out, William Kentridge inspired.

Second is a clay animation I call Plog.

Exam over. I think I've finished actual classes now since Friday! which I didn't rock up to.. It was that day with the non stop raining, horrible. Now just got heaps of studio time to get ready for assessment.

On Sat, took my sister out to the city. Went to see the William Kendridge show before it ended on Sunday! It was amazingg, I should of went to see it earlier so I could go again just to sit and watch his works properly. Didn't manage to watch everything that I wanted to with my sister around, always bugging to go out to the game centre outside. The fruit ninja event was on at Fed Square too, got some free shirts which was cool. 

                            

Cupcakes I made on the weekend cos I was craving for some.. mm. Today I've made berry mousse and chieken, bacon, mushroom, corn casserole.

Rabbits

Yesterday came home from uni and fell right into bed. It was quite early too. I haven't been sleeping right these days, I don't know why. I do other silly things instead. Learnt about acrylics and their different qualities in mediums and all that in the morning. It was quite interesting although I couldn't manage to stay awake.. I don't get it. Why is it when I find something interesting my brain doesn't stay awake. Even every lecture.  Hanged out with A&A and played mario kart at EB. fun fun, but at the end of the day I felt so shitty and sad. Too much thinking going on. Still got an essay to submit. Started a painting of a girl and one of fluffy.

Inspiration for my video idea that popped in my head whilst having my tute. I really do quite enjoy these. I like rabbits, I like the way they talk and the dialogue, the setting, everything. Check out if you're bored, cos they're a tad long.

Banana

It has been awhile once again. Gonna try and get back to it. Easter break coming up.
Highlights: job which never called me back, throwing up for a couple of days, painting, analysis, seeing high school art teachers and just sitting around.

Morning class was planned to check out artist studios but it was cancelled! and I didn't know about it since I took the day off before (where I made a fail pumpkin pudding).. so I just rocked up there wondering why people weren't around.. lucky another guy came and found out. I was kinda looking forward to it too.

Famine Affair

Went out with J to NGV:Mad Square, had dumplings and waffles. The mad square was goood, inspiring. I loved Hannah Hoch's collage works, the little short films and all the portraits in the exhibition. These works were mainly about the war era and how it has affected them, time after. Ending soon early March.

Friday: Woke up really early today, well than usual to go to the city to do an english test. I really do not know if I did well.. I missed a few questions. First major thing to do for the start of the year. Quite horrible. Bought some cheap canvases after at Art Riot, as they just started their canvas sale til the end of the month. Should keep stocking.

Rider

Swimming in the morning. So so early. I don't actually swim swim, just doggy paddle now and then. haha. Most of the other days, I've been waking up at like 2pm and then my day is over by more sleep. So many lazy days. Orientation in 2weeks! kinda excited and nervous.

Ryan Shultz

Australia day yesterday. Didn't do anything. I wanted to go see Loon lake and I, a man play at Fed Square live though but that didn't happen.

'Birthday Boy' Progress painting I started yesterday night. I've been wanting to paint these days but didn't know what of. I tried using another method on this one which turned out okay so far, inspired by Ryan Shultz.

Reminisce

Went to the shops today, didn't buy much. I have been watching the tennis! I'm not a huge huge fan but I like it. Go Nadal and Djokovic! woo.
Anyways, most of the day I've been reminiscing old Kpop music on youtube with bands such as H.O.T, Shinhwa, JTL, the old Smtown, G.O.D.. etc. I think they're cool (even though they look so gangster) compared to the ones now. The ones now, I don't know who's who or what band they're in, they all look the same in big groups.

Sketch of Jean Michel Basquiat. Inspired when I watched a documentary about him a while ago on tv. His work is amazing. He is such a cool guy. I like his attitude/response towards things.

Playsuit is so comfy. Kind of wasted my morning waiting for my driving lesson which I thought started earlier than what it actually was.

Lately I've been painting, essaying, baby sitting and doing nothing even though there's so much to do in little time... I still need to do stuff for next year, kit, fundraising, sculpture. I feel sad I haven't been motivated to draw in my black book or create anything new. I don't know what I'm doing with my life.

So I've been lazy blogging even though I'm on holidays and not doing much. Been fixing up my paintings for assessment for the semester! Apparently this year for this course everything is going to be graded. It sorta sucks but it's quite fair to the people who put more effort in their work. yeah.. I've been playing with kitty most of the time.

Woo well earlier in the day I went with Linda to the paper shop then after headed to Birrarung Marr where the national youth week launch was at which featured a concert including artists such as The Vines, Tim & Jean and Jebediah! from what I read in the mx.

When we first arrived there we saw Kate and Summer from Neighbours!

Also Callum from masterchef. He's a cutie.

Then after went around getting free stuff including a cool 2gb usb.

We missed the Vines play but made it for Tim&Jean! who are pretty awesome. I like Jean.... he's such a cutie pie. He's 17 though and Tim is 20. I think they look a tad older than what they are maybe cos they're on stage and it's pretty mad that they're rockin it out there already.

Yellow

Today had painting class. Didn't get to do much cos left to continue with the exhibition thing which is half way there. It was the last class with Shane Jones. He actually helps and cares. He showed us a glazing technique today. And I think my other painting teacher is leaving too. They both know my name, feels nice. Ah well, I wonder who will teach us next.

ps. I really dislike slow walkers farrrr especially when it's in a group too.

The Three Inventors

I reckon this is some hardcore short animation for 1979. It goes soo smoothly. He used paper and card and some kind of magnet, apparently from what I've read. The storyline: 'a white lace universe with three inventors who create a machine which are both pretty and useful. But unfortunately people do not understand them.' -imbd
