Pringles

Today had my artist presentation which I did on Samuli Heimonen, a Finnish painter whose work depicts how things relate to people and how we humans interact. His work is quite dark but it also has a, I guess visually playful aspect to it. Had a studio walk around after. Met up with Susan for the QVM thing that was on tonight. Everyone dressed up so pretty! yet I looked odd holding a recycled bag with this puppy bed I had just bought for cheap but it was cool. photos up when I get them.

No one believes me

Open day. Took my family to the city. Free sunnies, food voucher, nice weather. Spent time in the studios and chatted to some people. I've been interested in taking photo booth pictures recently, black and white, since I watched Amelie, a French film, about a shy coffee girl in Paris who decides to help people and finds love along the way. The movie is great! I've been trying to look for the movie again but I failed. I'll try again soon. I have started taking a few and made my parents too and I'll hopefully will have a nice collection soon!

Been watching movies lately. Finally watched Inception. I can see why people say it is good, the way everything is set out is different, trippy. I'm abit slow for the film. El Bola, spanish film, about a 12 year old boy who has a troubled life and is happier when a new kid comes along and sees the positive side of life plus helps with his problem. It's alright just a bit dragged out. Drop Dead Fred, imaginary friend, currently watching, the main guy is so annoying. Also lately been watching Daria. Since watching it back then I never knew she was soo smart, such an awesome show. Anyway, my work is hung up for Open day this Sunday! and QVM event is happening soon.

Trash&Angry Boys

It's that time of the year to chuck out things. I'd go bike riding around the neighbourhood looking at everyone's junk. It sounds weird, but I enjoy looking at these things for some reason. Same time few years ago I took Little Boy for a walk and I found a basket, I was like Dorothy with her dog in the Wizard of Oz.

Anyways today went to eat at that Footscray Buffet once again but with the whole fam. I don't know if it's worth it or not but it's alright. You just need to eat your 18$ worth. After went to Highpoint to see Chris Lilley for Angry Boys!

Ridiculous!

The workload is slowly getting to me. It's like the first time in a while. Preparing for end of year exhibition(which is a pain), a project document to write tomorrow, artist with thematically connected works presentation next week, essay, more painting, start on sculpture. zz

Went to the Design:Made:Trade on Sat after my cousins little party. I don't know if I liked it but there was this motion area where there was a stuffed hand and these strings attached and each string moves a finger, which I found cool. There was also an area to paint a stool. Next day went to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2. It was goood. Oh so many awkward funny moments. I think I laughed at the wrong bits!

(Shown above) and also gets to be exhibited in Melbourne at Rancho Notorious from Tuesday 19th of July until the 1st of August and at aMBUSH Gallery in Sydney from the 8th until 14th of August. woo
