Life drawing

Dora McRae drawing intensive. Life drawing in a week. 5 days 4 different mentors plus one day of celebrating/mini exhibition. It's not like the normal life drawing classes, they all had a little twist to it. First day was intense! so tired, exhausted from long hours of just drawing but overall it was a great experience. learnt different techniques, ways to see things, seeing how others work.

Munta!

Spent days cleaning out junk in the backyard and my room. It's that time of the year where people clean out things to their front yard. I have to say.. I'm one of those people that likes to go collect some of those things.. The excitement of looking and finding. Picked up a new dog kennel similar to the one the dogs have now and a little play house thing for kitty! and various other treasures that I think look cool but don't really need.. 

My drawing on animation class is also officially over. Watched everyone's animations and man they were like really good especially the ones with a bit of humour in them. I felt mine was pretty Eh. playing near the end but I'm happy with what I've done.

Besides all this... got a new addition to the family! Welcome Munta!

He's just the cutest little shit. Feeling sorry for kitty though for not giving him much attention..

Anyways watched The Amazing Spiderman the other day. When I saw there was another spiderman coming out, I was like nah this is gonna be crap, why would they make another one when there is already 2 or something and with another guy? wasn't planning to watch it at all BUT in the end it was really good! quite enjoyed it and exceeded my expectations.. Andrew Garfield the main guy is strangely attractive, even his walk is a bit strange but I like it. Also watching him on Ellen unexpectedly before this, I had the same expectation when he came out but he was somehow very charming and lured me in to watching the whole thing.

Cleaning is taking forever. 

Animations

 Winter, rain and drizzle. Have been sick and been my usual self, avoiding the rain and everything else. 

Delay. It has been a fun filled four days with exhausting long hours on the drawing on animation course as a winter intensive. Started on Monday which was exciting! besides the early start. Had two lovely animators who helped us out, one worked in a film called 'Mary & Max' a academy award winning short animation and the other also won an award for.. I forgot what.. but her stuff is amazing.

Untitled, on Plywood. Painting (cropped) I did few weeks ago on the break. I don't know if I actually like it, I did when I was actually painting her but it just feels like there is nothing really to it and not very me. I guess I just wanted to try something different. Inspired by Charmaine Olivia.

On the first day we watched various animations that involved different techniques to get us thinking and inspired to create our own in only a couple of long days. Pes, Bruce Alcock, Carmen Torrero etc. It is so amazing the process and time spent on each second of a film especially back then when they didn't have the technology like we do now. Day 2 started actually making our own. Day 3 Continuation. Made another one and a half. Day 4: Putting it together in the computer labs. And there is a screening day next week where we get to watch everybody's animation! I saw a few, and I have to say.. they all looked amazing. It was quite a nice class with a mix of people from art, music, to science, physics. Glad I chose this.
I have a few clips that I've been meaning to upload but aren't so much finished.. but I've finally done it today! Sorry for video overload.. It'll be cool if you could check it out though :)

This is the first that I did. Mainly using charcoal and rubbing out, William Kentridge inspired.

Second is a clay animation I call Plog.

One of the videos I created to experiment and push on with my painting ideas.

Clip I did a while ago, that I didn't really like and ended up submitting to related studies class. Similar to the rabbit and wonderer clip.

Peko

 Quick late night drawing. 

Went out with A&A today and ate at Peko Peko, a little busy japanese place near uni. I had some honey glazed chicken peko box. It was pretty goood and it had a nice menu. I would go again but the walking distance.. It's actually not that far though, I'm just lazy.

Back to the studio and did this bird drawing. Haven't done a marker drawing in awhile. Quite like it. Prob do more of these.

I'm a black swan

Hello. Today I had the urge to paint but spent most of the time thinking about what I was going to paint.. Ended up doing a little shoot of one of my sketches that I'm editing instead.

Also made sushi with spam, egg and cucumber.

These couple of days I've been babysitting, baking; cream puffs and churros, and going to the studio now and then. Experimenting with gel medium transfers. Fixing up thing. Hanged out with A on Friday, then S&A where we ate korean at Yami yami. The chicken is so delish.

 Studio on Tuesday, started to make these babies again but actually painting them. Went to the opening of 'Funny games'@VCA and one at First Site.

The weather has been horrible the last week. Rainy day, messy table, messy room. 

Max sits by the window sill, he keeps on giving me the stare.. just cos I left him pantless.

Exam over. I think I've finished actual classes now since Friday! which I didn't rock up to.. It was that day with the non stop raining, horrible. Now just got heaps of studio time to get ready for assessment.

On Sat, took my sister out to the city. Went to see the William Kendridge show before it ended on Sunday! It was amazingg, I should of went to see it earlier so I could go again just to sit and watch his works properly. Didn't manage to watch everything that I wanted to with my sister around, always bugging to go out to the game centre outside. The fruit ninja event was on at Fed Square too, got some free shirts which was cool. 

                            

Cupcakes I made on the weekend cos I was craving for some.. mm. Today I've made berry mousse and chieken, bacon, mushroom, corn casserole.
